Health Economics Sub-project

The health economics sub-project explores the health economic aspects of phage research and phage therapy. To this end, the sub-project will first examine how production methods and regulatory requirements affect cost-effectiveness. Subsequently, reimbursement models for therapies such as phage therapy will be analysed.

The findings of the health economics sub-project will, in particular, help to clarify the health economic framework for the transfer of phage therapy into standard clinical practice. These conditions are essential for the implementation and introduction of phage therapy into the market.

The health economics sub-project is based at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Leipzig.
