Dr. rer. nat. Alexandra Moormann

From 1996 until 2002, Alexandra Moormann studied Biology at Osnabrück University. She finished her studies in 2002 by obtaining a diploma in Biology. Furthermore, she passed her first state examination (secondary education) and obtained a teaching certificate for Biology and Physics before she did her traineeship at the “Berufskolleg der Stadt Rheine” from 2003 until 2005. In 2005, Alexandra Moormann passed her second state examination in Münster. In the following year, she worked as a biology and physics teacher at the grammar school Ulricianum in Aurich. From 2006 until 2015, she worked as a researcher in the Department of Biology Education at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. Since 2015, she has been working as a researcher (postdoc) in the Department of Education at the Museum für Naturkunde – Leibniz-Institute for Evolution and Biodiversity Science in Berlin. Her research interests are on attitude research and the nature of science as well as models in museums.

Since October 2016, Alexandra Moormann has been cooperating with the joint research project “GenomELECTION”, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education.
